Borland maakt Web Services strategie voor Java bekend
~ hoogwaardige Java oplossingen slaan brug tussen J2EE®, .Net® en legacy software architecturen ~
8 oktober 2001 - Borland heeft haar Web Services strategie voor Java bekend gemaakt. Deze zal een brug slaan tussen de verschillende werelden van J2EE en Microsoft .Net platformen zodat deze in lijn is met de industriestandaarden.
Volgens de Gartner Group zal de komende jaren bijna de helft van alle nieuwe projecten gebruik gaan maken van zowel Java als .Net technologieën. Klanten hebben daarom behoefte aan een e-business platform dat beide omgevingen ondersteunt en legacy applicaties integreert.
Borland zal Web Services ontwikkel- en deploymentoplossingen voor het Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) gaan leveren. Het zal hierbij gebruik maken van Borland® JBuilder®, de toonaangevende Java ontwikkelomgeving, en Borland® AppServer® technologie om de ontwikkeling en deployment van robuuste, op standaarden gebaseerde Web Services applicaties te ondersteunen.
Borland is ook van plan een pakket van Web Services oplossingen voor Java te gaan leveren, waarmee ontwikkelaars met Java en Web Services samen applicaties kunnen creëren. Dit pakket van oplossingen, additioneel leverbaar bij Borland JBuilder, is een verzameling van applicatie programmeer interfaces (API's), architecturen en aanvullende standaarden ontwikkeld door de Java gebruikersgroep.
De Web Services strategie voor Java biedt bedrijven een platform om bestaande en nieuwe Web Services standaarden, waaronder XML, SOAP, WSDL en UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery en Integration) te gebruiken. Verder kunnen bedrijven hun huidige bronnen optimaliseren en deelnemen aan de ontwikkeling van de concepten en processen van industriestandaarden.
"Borland legt zich toe op de snelle implementatie en standaardisatie van Web Services over alle platformen, inclusief Java," zei Mika Alapiessa, regionaal directeur Noord-, Oost-, Zuid-Europa, Afrika en het Midden-Oosten bij Borland. "Door uitgebreide XML ondersteuning in JBuilder aan te bieden en door te gaan met het ontwikkelen van oplossingen voor de hele Web Services levenscyclus, blijft Borland toonaangevend in het vergemakkelijken van de ontwikkel- en deploymentprocessen van bedrijven van elk formaat."
