Europees congres aan de TU Eindhoven
Wiskunde voor de Industrie
Maandag 21 t/m vrijdag 25 juni organiseert de Technische Universiteit
Eindhoven een internationale wetenschappelijke conferentie over
industriële wiskunde. Onder de vlag van ECMI (European Consortium for
Mathematics in Industry) en ENBIS (European network for business and
Industrial Statistics) bezoeken zon 350 wiskundigen, statistici en
ingenieurs uit de industrie en academische wereld deze conferentie.
De conferentie gaat over wiskundige en statistische modellering,
analyse en simulatie van problemen die optreden in een praktische
context. De ontwikkeling van de verschillende technologiegebieden in
industriële sectoren is sterk afhankelijk van wiskundige computational
methodes. Wiskunde is noodzakelijk om nieuwe stappen in
applicatiegebieden te zetten, het bedrijfsleven ziet het dan ook als
een generieke technologie.
De volgende toepassingsgebieden zullen worden behandeld:
vliegtuigindustrie, elektronica, chemie, biotechnologie, materialen,
geofysica, financiële markten en water management.
Tijdens de conferentie worden lezingen gehouden door vooraanstaande
onderzoekers, zijn er minisymposia, voordrachten en postersessies. Er
wordt ook een expositie gehouden door uitgeverijen, softwarebedrijven
en industriële organisaties.
