2,45 miljoen euro Vlaamse subsidies voor projecten in Centraal- en
Oost-Europa
Vlaams minister van Buitenlands Beleid Geert BOURGEOIS
maakt 2,45 miljoen euro vrij voor samenwerkingprojecten
met Centraal- en Oost-Europa. Hiermee worden initiatieven
van Vlaamse organisaties in de nieuwe lidstaten van de
Europese Unie, in de toekomstige lidstaten en in nieuwe
buurlanden van de Unie gesubsidieerd.
Van deze som gaat 670.000 euro naar projecten in de
nieuwe lidstaten en 242 000 euro naar Oekraïne, één van
de nieuwe buurlanden van de Europese Unie. Het grootste
gedeelte van het budget is echter voor projecten in de
toekomstige nieuwe lidstaten: 870 500 euro voor Roemenië,
686 000 euro voor Bulgarije en 500 000 euro voor Kroatië.
Bourgeois wil nauwere relaties aanknopen met deze landen
en hen ondersteunen in hun inspanningen voor de Europese
toetreding.
Ook moet het samenwerkingsprogramma met Centraal- en
Oost-Europa de Vlaamse aanwezigheid in partnerlanden
verstevigen. "Die regio is niet alleen een belangrijke
groeimarkt voor onze bedrijven, maar ook voor onze
instellingen, universiteiten en het Vlaamse middenveld
zijn er belangrijke win-win-kansen. De betrokkenheid van
de bedrijven en het middenveld biedt het Vlaams
buitenlands beleid bovendien een aanzienlijke
meerwaarde," aldus Bourgeois.
De samenwerking tussen Vlaamse organisaties en de
betrokken landen omhelst een brede waaier van
onderwerpen: van landbouw en milieu tot gezondheidszorg,
toerisme en KMO-beleid. De twee grootste projecten zijn
het trainingsprogramma "Plato Croatia" voor KMO-managers
in Kroatië door Voka-Kamer van Koophandel Oost-Vlaanderen
(199.840 euro) en het project van Syntra West vzw voor de
uitbouw van kleine toeristische activiteiten in Zuid-
West-Roemenië (160.000 euro).
Syntra West vzw wil met deze Vlaamse steun, via de
ontwikkeling van kleine toeristische activiteiten, lokale
gemeenschappen in Zuid-West Roemenië doen heropleven. Het
project richt zich tot een 25-tal verblijfsuitbaters op
het platteland. Met trainingsessies, individuele hulp en
de uitbouw van een trainings- en netwerkingscentrum voor
structurele omkadering wil Syntra deze uitbaters
begeleiden in hun ondernemingsactiviteiten. Ook zal er
ter promotie een Beurs voor plattelandstoerisme worden
georganiseerd.
Het project "Plato Croatia" van Voka-Kamer van Koophandel
Oost-Vlaanderen biedt een professionele opleiding aan
KMO-managers in Kroatië. Via het bijbrengen van kennis en
managementvaardigheden enerzijds en het creëren van een
sectoroverschrijdend en internationaal economisch netwerk
anderzijds, wil dit project onderzoek en ontwikkeling in
Kroatië stimuleren.
Dit voorjaar lanceerde Bourgeois een oproep tot Vlaamse
promotoren om projecten in te dienen. Na de
selectieprocedure werden 24 subsidiedossiers goedgekeurd.
