Met 'Shaping A New Africa' beoogt de NCDO het debat te stimuleren over
positieve ontwikkelingen in Afrika en het nieuwe Nederlandse beleid
voor dit continent. Door Nederlandse Afrikanen daarin een
nadrukkelijke rol te laten spelen, steunt de NCDO hun klacht dat de
Nederlandse overheid en ontwikkelingsorganisaties tot dusver te weinig
gebruik hebben gemaakt van hun expertise.
Details
Urbanist and author Mr. AbdouMaliq Simone will examine the myths and
assumptions around the process of urbanisation. Respondent Mr. Shamiel
Adams (South African artist and youth development specialist) and the
audience will assess how the process is working, drawing on specific,
local examples from African cities. Ginger da Silva of Radio
Netherlands will moderate the discussion.
