Yukos International rondt aandelenverkoop af in Litouwse raffinaderij Mazeikiu Nafta aan
PKN Orlen
Amsterdam, 14 december 2006
Claire Davidson, woordvoerder van Yukos International UK BV: 'It has been a most
extraordinary eighteen month marathon which has seen this sales process dragged by the
Russian Federation across the globe into one court after another. In each instance those
attempts have been unsuccessful as courts have consistently permitted the sale process
undertaken by YUKOS International UK BV to proceed. YUKOS International was conscious
throughout the sale process to work closely with interested constituencies in attempting
to find a purchaser which would be the most desirable for Lithuania, while simultaneously
ensuring the maximum price. Today is a triumph for transparent and accountable business
transactions that are completed on commercial grounds and with honour and integrity, not
letting politicized pressures and non-commercial coercion force the hand of any party.
In close partnership with the Lithuanian government YUKOS made significant positive
changes to the Mazeikiu Nafta business during the time of its majority ownership and
operations of the complex, and fully expects that PKN ORLEN will continue that process
for the benefit of Lithuania and PKN ORLEN's stakeholders.'
