HITT neemt maatregelen om winstgevendheid te verbeteren
De winstontwikkeling bij HITT is lager dan verwacht door verschillende oorzaken.
Bij HITT Traffic in Apeldoorn is de afgelopen jaren flink geïnvesteerd in de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten. De afronding ervan had nog een negatief effect op de productiviteit van begin dit jaar. Het herstel dat vanaf mei leek op te treden, is minder krachtig dan werd verwacht. De recent aangetreden bestuursvoorzitter heeft een voorziening van ¤ 0,6 miljoen getroffen om de organisatie effectiever te laten inspelen op deze nieuwe productstrategie. Hiermee moet de winstgevendheid van de omzet, die wél sterk groeit, verbeteren. Daarnaast kan op het project voor de Golf van Khachchh in India kan nog steeds geen verdere voortgang geboekt worden, vanwege vertraging bij de Indiase bouwer van de torens waarop HITT haar systemen moet plaatsen. Op korte termijn is hier geen verbetering te verwachten.
Ook de beide Canadese dochterbedrijven blijven achter in resultaat. Hoewel bij het bedrijf dat gespecialiseerd is in havenmanagementsystemen een duidelijk herstel zichtbaar is, is een directiewisseling in voorbereiding. Maatregelen bij het andere bedrijf worden overwogen.
De werkmaatschappij in Zeist, gespecialiseerd in hydrografische en nautische toepassingen en de joint-venture 'AISLive.com' voor de informatieverkoop van wereldwijde scheepsbewegingen via internet, presteren beide boven verwachting.
E.e.a. heeft geleid tot het bijstellen van de eindejaarsprognose voor de nettowinst uit operatie naar ¤ 0,7 miljoen, waar eerder nog een verbetering ten opzichte van het resultaat over 2006 werd verwacht. Na de bovengenoemde voorziening zal dus naar verwachting een kleine nettowinst resteren.
HITT heeft een goed gevulde orderportefeuille die een solide basis geeft voor de nabije toekomst. Het bestuur van HITT heeft vertrouwen in de verdere ontwikkeling van de onderneming en het herstel van de winstgevendheid
Profiel HITT
HITT is een vooraanstaand speler in de wereldwijde nichemarkt voor verkeersbegeleiding- en navigatiesystemen. De door HITT ontwikkelde technologie leidt tot hogere veiligheid, betere doorstroming en aanzienlijke besparingen in infrastructuur en logistiek. De activiteiten van HITT bestaan uit het ontwerpen en verkopen van verkeersbegeleidende systemen voor lucht- en scheepvaart en hydrografische en navigatiesystemen. Verkeersbegeleidende systemen omvatten 'Air Traffic Control' dat zich richt op verkeer op luchthavens; 'Vessel Traffic Management' op verkeer op binnen- en buitenwateren; 'Technical Services' op onderhoud van kennis en systemen bij klanten en 'haven management systemen' op beheersing van inzet en afrekening van middelen en diensten in havens. Hydrografische en navigatiesystemen omvatten 'Hydrographic survey systems' voor het maken van digitale onderwater terreinmodellen; 'precision navigation systems' voor beloodsing en ondersteuning bij afmeren en offshore constructiewerkzaamheden; 'navigation systems' voor de visserij en automatische identificatie AIS en 'AIS Live.com' dat via het internet scheepsinformatie verspreidt aan geinteresseerden. HITT levert software producten, ondersteunende diensten en neemt integrale projecten aan. Als projectverantwoordelijke levert HITT alle benodigde systeemelementen zoals sensoren, communicatieapparatuur en computers. Na de installatie voorziet HITT in het jarenlange onderhoud van de systemen.
HITT behaalde in 2006 een omzet van EUR 27,9 miljoen en een nettowinst van EUR 1,9 miljoen. Het aantal werknemers eind 2006 bedroeg 165. Sinds juni 1998 is HITT genoteerd aan Euronext Amsterdam NV.

HITT takes measures to improve profitability
Due to various causes the profit development of HITT is lower than expected.
At HITT Traffic in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, the conclusion of significant investments in product development have yet had a negative effect on productivity early this year. Although productivity seemed to pick up in May it was less forceful than expected. The recently appointed Chief Executive Officer has had to take a loss provision of EUR 0.6 million to enable the organisation to more effectively tune in on this new product strategy. By this the profitability of sales, which increased significantly, is expected to improve. In addition, no further progress has been made with the project for the Gulf of Khachchh in India. This is due to major delays by the Indian contractor in building the towers on which the HITT systems have to be installed. This is not expected to be solved on the short term.
In addition, the results of both Canadian subsidiaries are lagging behind. Despite a clear recovery of the division specialised in port management systems, a change in management is prepared. Measures in the other division are considered.
The division in Zeist/the Netherlands, specialised in hydrographical and nautical applications and the joint-venture 'AISLive.com' that sells real time information on worldwide vessel traffic via the internet, are both performing better than expected.
These developments have led to a downward adjustment to EUR 0.7 million to the 2007 forecast of profit as opposed to the earlier forecast of an improvement over the 2006 results. Thus after the abovementioned provision it is expected that a small net profit will remain.
HITT has a well filled order book which is a solid basis for the future. Management of HITT has confidence in the further development of the company and the recovery of the profitability.

In 2006 HITT achieved a revenue of EUR 27.9 million and a net profit of EUR 1.9 million. The number of staff at year-end 2006 was 165. HITT has been listed on Euronext Amsterdam NV since June 1998.
