Ingezonden persbericht
Na een succesvolle lancering organiseert MeccaPANZA op 25 november de
tweede vertoning van FUTURE SHORTS in OT301 in Amsterdam. Op het programma
staan prachtige korte films vanuit de hele wereld. Hieronder een selectie
van wat er vertoond gaat worden.
FUTURE SHORTS NOVEMBER
Monkeylove
Dir: Royston Tan / Singapore-Japan / 2005
In the winter landscape of Hokkaido, a guy in a monkey suit is searching
for lost love. A meditation on life and art, love and longing, "Monkey
Love" is lyrical, enigmatic, pensive, whimsical and spare - like a haiku.
Milan
Dir: Michaela Kezele / Serbia / 2007
Yugoslavia during the 1999 NATO air raids: two brothers are making plans
to go and play hide-and-seek in the forest.
Youth
Dir: Jane Linfoot / UK / 2007
Youth is comprised of three observational vignettes. Filmed in a
naturalistic style, this short focuses on the minutae of adolescence.
What's a girl to do?
Dir: Dougal Wilson
Giant mascot headed BMXers pedal, hop and twist in sync to the subtle
pulsing break beats of this trip hop masterpiece by Bat for Lashes.
Living in the Dark
Dir: Thomas Leung / Australia / 2005
A young man remembers a childhood with a blind father and his own
temporary sunglasses.

Future Shorts
Future Shorts is sinds 2003 een toonaangevend en innovatief filmlabel voor
de korte film met een passie om een internationale cultuur rondom het
medium korte film te creëren. Dit doen ze onder andere met een maandelijks

MeccaPANZA
MeccaPANZA is een jonge vereniging die aangesloten is bij het Europese
filmnetwerk Nisi Masa (www.nisimasa.com). Het doel van MeccaPANZA is het
promoten van een internationaal georiënteerde en constant vernieuwende
cinematografische en audiovisuele cultuur in Nederland en het uitwisselen
van ideeën en formele aspecten van cinema, alsmede de persoonlijke
motieven voor het maken van een film, in de breedste zin van het woord.
