Mandarin Oriental gebruikt wereldwijd Riverbed IT-infrastructuur performance-oplossingen
~ Riverbed Steelheads versnellen boekingssysteem voor klanten en bedrijfsintranet ~
Riverbed Technology, de IT-infrastructure performance company voor netwerken, applicaties en storage, heeft aangekondigd dat de Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group wereldwijd tweeëntwintig Steelheads heeft ingezet in haar hotels en kantoren. Door de inzet van Riverbed's WAN-optimalisatie is de intranetsnelheid enorm verhoogd, evenals het customer relationship management (CRM)-systeem. Dit levert een besparing op van de bedrijfskosten en zorgt voor verhoogde klanttevredenheid.
Circa een jaar geleden voegde Mandarin Oriental een nieuwe centrale databasecomponent toe aan haar CRM-systeem en moderniseerde de intranetsite. "Het CRM-systeem bevindt zich in de kern van de IT-afdeling bij ieder hotel, omdat veel klantcontacten - voornamelijk hotelboekingen - hierdoor verwerkt worden", zegt Raju Daryanani, vicepresident IT-infrastructuur en informatiebeveiliging bij Mandarin Oriental. "Deze applicatie moet snel werken, omdat ieder klantcontact meerdere systeemtransacties vereist."
"Grondig onderzoek naar de producten van de marktleiders leerde ons dat Riverbed's producten het beste passen bij onze behoeften. Na netwerktests blijkt dat onze nieuwe intranetsite aanzienlijk sneller is geworden en dat de performance van de nieuwe CRM-database bijna verdubbeld is. Dit vertaalt zich direct in zowel lagere bedrijfsvoeringkosten als toegenomen klanttevredenheid."
Daryanani en zijn IT-team kochten de Steelheads centraal in Hong Kong en lieten ze afzonderlijk bij de hotels bezorgen. Hierbij zat een korte instructie voor de lokale IT-teams met aanwijzingen om de Steelheads aan het productienetwerk te koppelen. Alle configuraties zijn op afstand uitgevoerd door het IT-team in Hong Kong. "Doordat wij alle installaties snel en gemakkelijk binnen de verschillende IT-omgevingen konden uitvoeren zonder het productienetwerk te verstoren, hebben we veel tijd en geld bespaard", besluit Daryanani.
