Who's Right(s)?
Applying the human rights frame to national migration policies.
Tijdens deze FORUM conferentie zullen diverse experts en
geïnteresseerden op het gebied van vreemdelingenrecht, mensenrechten
en internationale betrekkingen bij elkaar komen om de huidige
mensenrechten situatie van migranten en asielzoekers in Nederland te
bespreken.
Vragen die tijdens de conferentie aan de orde komen zijn:
* Wat is de impact van internationale kritiek op nationale wetgeving
and beleid?
* Hoe kan Nederland haar voortrekkersrol als beschermer van
mensenrechten behouden?
FORUM wil hiermee met toonaangevende experts het samenwerkingproces
van relevante actoren, die samen vormgeven aan Nederlands beleid ten
aanzien van de mensenrechten van migranten, bespreken.
Aanleiding voor deze conferentie is het onderzoeksrapport ``Who's
Right(s)? Internationaal Toezicht op de Naleving van Mensenrechten van
Migranten in Nederland 2000 - 2008'' uitgevoerd door Dominique van Dam
(Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen). De centrale vraag van het rapport is:
`Wat is het effect van internationale monitoring op Nederlandse
wetgeving en beleid in relatie tot de mensenrechten van migranten?'
Het rapport zal tijdens de conferentie worden overhandigd aan de
Staatssecretaris van Justitie Nebahat Albayrak.
