(Rotterdam/Venetië, 28 augustus 2010) Rem Koolhaas ontving vanmiddag de prestigieuze prijs de Gouden Leeuw op de architectuurbiënnale in Venetië. Koolhaas wordt met deze prestigieuze prijs geëerd voor zijn gehele oeuvre. 'It is a really wonderful moment to get a lifetime achievement award in the middle of my career. I will certainly treat it as an encouragement for further action. Thank you.'

Koolhaas ontving de tweejaarlijks uitgereikte prijs op voorspraak van Kazuyo Sejima (SANAA), curator van de 12e Internationale Architectuur Biënnale van Venetië.
