Professor Bert Poolman and Professor Siewert-Jan Marrink of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences have both been awarded an ERC Advanced Grant of 2,5 million euros. The ERC Advanced Grant programme supports excellent established researchers with pioneering research projects.

Professor Bert Poolman of the Enzymology group of (Groningen Biomolecular Sciences & Biotechnology Institute) receives the Advanced Grant for his five-year project "ABCVolume: The ABC of Cell Volume Regulation".
Siewert-Jan Marrink
Professor Siewert-Jan Marrink of the Molecular Dynamics group (Groningen Biomolecular Sciences & Biotechnology Institute) receives his EUR Advanced Grant for the five-year project "COMP-MICR-CROW-MEM: Computational Microscopy of Crowded Membranes"
