The Embassy will join the activities that are being organized by the EU Delegation in Macedonia, together with the Macedonian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, by presence and additional promotion of their activities. This year, the EU Delegation dedicates the celebration of this day to the promotion of a guideline on protection and promotion of the rights of the LGBTI people, adopted by the European Commission in June 2013. In the morning there will be a press-conference in the LGBTI Support Centre (facility financially supported by the Netherlands Embassy), as a promotional event for the Guideline. In the afternoon, there shall be a debate in the EU Info Centre (http://www.euic.mk/), projection of a film and short videos, ending with a cocktail. Two guest speakers are invited to the debate, one from Ireland and one from the Netherlands.
On top of these activities, as of 11 am on 10 December, the Netherlands Embassy will have a screening of the documentary Reportero at the EU Info Centre. The screening will be followed by a debate of relevant Macedonian stakeholders who will speak about the freedom of media.
