Benelux statement on Croatia/Slovenia border arbitration
On 4 November 2009 Croatia and Slovenia have taken the initiative to submit the resolution of their border dispute to the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
The Benelux Prime Ministers stress the importance of the rule of law as the foundation upon which the European Union is built.
Rulings of international courts and tribunals represent important acts of international law. As such they form integral part of our international rules based system.
The Benelux Prime Ministers call upon both sides to respect the arbitration award in a constructive spirit.
