£23 million agreement with LogicaCMG will provide Ofcom with managed information systems service

LogicaCMG announced today a contract with Ofcom, the UK's new communications industry regulator, for a managed information systems (IS) service. Under a two year £23 million agreement the company will build on its previous relationship with the Radiocommunications Agency to develop a new desktop platform for Ofcom.
The LogicaCMG service will integrate the existing resources of the five previous regulators; Broadcasting Standards Commission, Independent Television Commission, Office of Telecommunications, Radio Authority and Radiocommunications Agency. Ofcom will be able to draw upon LogicaCMG's expertise in regulatory frameworks, spectrum management, trading systems and licensing as well as other skills, such as business and change management.
Kevin Gorman, managing director of LogicaCMG's public sector business in the UK commented, "In addition to ensuring the seamless transfer of IT systems into Ofcoms's new headquarters, we have worked closely with Ofcom to design a new partnership model ensuring maximum value for money for Ofcom. LogicaCMG heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt een contract te hebben getekend met Ofcom, de nieuwe toezichthouder van de communicatie-industrie in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, voor een 'managed information systems (IS) service'. Onder dit tweejarig contract met een waarde van GBP 23 miljoen zal het bedrijf haar eerdere relatie met de Radiocommunications Agency verder uitbouwen om een nieuw desktop platform te ontwikkelen voor Ofcom.
De LogicaCMG service verzorgt de integratie van de vroegere vijf toezichthouders: Broadcasting Standards Commission, Independent Television Commission, Office of Telecommunications, Radio Authority en Radiocommunications Agency. Ofcom zal kunnen putten uit de expertise van LogicaCMG op het gebied van 'regulatory frameworks', spectrumbeheer, handelssystemen en licensering alsmede andere vaardigheden, zoals 'business en change management'.
Kevin Gorman, directeur public sector van LogicaCMG in het Verenigd Koninkrijk zei het volgende: "Naast het zekerstellen van het naadloos overzetten van de IT systemen naar het hoofdkantoor van Ofcom, hebben we nauw samengewerkt met Ofcom om een nieuw samenwerkingsmodel vorm te geven, dat Ofcom een optimale prijs-kwaliteitverhouding garandeert. LogicaCMG zal een 'managed IS service' leveren van het hoogste kaliber om de toezichthouder te helpen voldoen aan haar bedrijfsdoelstellingen."
