De 6e lezing in de serie 2004-2005 van SID-Nederland Terrorisme, Veiligheid en Ontwikkeling vindt maandag 18 april a.s. plaats aan de Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam en wordt verzorgd door drs Bert Koenders, Buitenlandwoordvoerder van de Tweede-Kamerfractie van de Partij van de Arbeid. Co-referent is dr Edwin Bakker, terrorisme-expert van Instituut Clingendael. Gespreksleider is mr Jos van Gennip, voorzitter van SID-Nederland.

Theme and speaker:
In this 5th lecture of the SID-ELA lecture series on Governance and Democracy in Latin America, Mr. Aranibar Quiroga will sketch the socio-economical context of Bolivia, clarify the process of partial modernization and present different future scenarios including the elements that points towards the development of a more viable "modern state.
Mr Ernesto Aranibar Quiroga is Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the United Nations in New York and a former Minister of Finance and Planning for Bolivia.
