David Gilmour, beroemd van Pink Floyd, komt op zondag 19 maart 2006 naar de Heineken Music
Hall in Amsterdam. De kaartverkoop voor dit concert begint aanstaande vrijdag om 10.00
uur.
Begin volgend jaar maakt David Gilmour een tournee door Europa onder dezelfde titel als
zijn nieuwe solo album 'On An Island' Tour. Het is Gilmours eerste Europese tournee sinds
de 'Division Bell' Tour van Pink Floyd uit 1994 en tevens zijn eerste live optreden sinds
het Pink Floyd optreden op Live 8 afgelopen zomer. David Gilmour: I am very much looking
forward to this tour and making music with the great musicians in the band. I have had a
fantastic time making On An Island and really want to perform tracks from it, along with
my more familiar repertoire. I am rather hoping that with this tour announcement people
will believe me when I say, honestly, this is the only band I plan to tour with!. Het
lichtontwerp tijdens de tournee wordt gedaan door Marc Brickman die veelvuldig met
Gilmour werkte tijdens Pink Floyd tours.
