Interview Stunned Guys

TILBURG, 17 OKTOBER 2006

In which ways has Traxtorm been important to you? After many releases on important Dutch label as Rotterdam Records, Terror Traxx and Forze, we decided to start Traxtorm on 1995 to develop the hardcore scene in Italy too, dreaming about the goal to have "our own" scene in our country, looking as much as possible like the Dutch one. Traxtorm quickly became the leader of the up growing Italian scene and one of the most respected labels in the worldwide panorama. The names Stunned Guys and Traxtorm together took us around the world for uncountable gigs and the big productions we released (also together with big Dutch artists as Neophyte, Paul Elstak, Darrien Kelly...) set Traxtorm as one of the best hardcore labels of the world. Even more, on Traxtorm we did a big talent scouting, and we launched and still actually produce big artists like Tommyknocker, Art of Fighters, Mad Dog (and more to come). I cannot even imagine if Traxtorm wouldn't exist: Traxtorm is a "need".. When you created Thrillseeka together with DJ Paul, did you thought 'Yes, this one's going to be huge'?
When you make a track, you always know something about "this is gonna work..." or "this is not gonna work...": yes we realized it was a good track, a very good one, but honestly we couldn't expect the worldwide success it became. I'm so happy about it: we made the track on 1998, and it is still one of the most played tracks on the hardcore dance floors around the globe.
Mania is very honoured to welcome you for the first time at one of our events. Many of your Italian colleagues stood already behind the turntables at Mania, like Noize Suppressor, Randy, Jappo aka Unexist, Claudio Lancinhouse and Tommyknocker. Why is it that Italian DJ's and the Dutch hardcore freaks are such a good combination? I actually don't know the exact reason, but if you look at the development of the house music scene started early 90', it is clear that both Italian and Dutch people has a special feeling for "rave music": the best tracks ever have mostly been produced by Italians or Dutch producers, and the audience from the 2 countries is the most party minded. Italian DJ's and the Dutch hardcore freaks are a perfect combination, but it is exactly all the way around between Dutch DJ's and Italian hardcore freaks: I really believe it has something to do with both our DNA...
