Riverbed introduceert oplossing voor versnelling VMware vSphere®-replicatie ~ Gezamenlijke oplossing bepalend voor bedrijfscontinuïteit en disaster recovery in cloud- en gevirtualiseerde omgevingen ~
Riverbed, de IT performance company, heeft aangekondigd dat haar Steelhead-applicatie wide area network (WAN)-optimalisatie-oplossingen de VMware vSphere-replicatie versnelt. Dit is een nieuwe functie van VMware vCenter(TM) Site Recovery Manager(TM) 5. De combinatie van Riverbed- en VMware-oplossingen richt zich op uitdagingen van datareplicatie over het WAN, in cloud- en gevirtualiseerde omgevingen. Het is een geïntegreerd onderdeel dat bedrijfscontinuïteit en disaster recovery verbetert. De samenwerking tussen Riverbed en VMware stelt organisaties in staat om publieke-, private- en hybride clouds te bouwen, voor het verbinden van wereldwijd opererende bedrijven.
VMware vSphere-replicatie is een nieuwe functie van VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5, waarmee virtuele machines (VM's) en de bijbehorende data worden gerepliceerd binnen of tussen lokale-, remote- of cloud-gebaseerde datacenters. Wanneer data wordt gerepliceerd over het WAN, kunnen er uitdagingen ontstaan â¤<â¤<als gevolg van bandbreedtebeperkingen, hoge latency in het netwerk en packet loss. Dit resulteert in een slechte performance en replicatie die niet wordt afgerond binnen het toegewezen tijdsbestek. De gezamenlijke oplossing van Riverbed en VMware stelt organisaties in staat om de voordelen van de uitgebreide datareplicatie op afstand te realiseren, op een kosteneffectieve manier en zonder afbreuk te doen aan de Recovery Point Objective (RPO)- en Recovery Time Objective (RTO)-doelen. De Riverbed WAN-optimalisatie-oplossingen leveren aanzienlijke prestatieverbeteringen bij het repliceren van grote hoeveelheden data over het WAN. Tegelijkertijd worden terugkerende kosten die zijn verbonden aan WAN-infrastructuur, drastisch verminderd.
