Cooperation between the Kingdom of Netherlands and France on Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin
On 19 December the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the French Republic met in The Hague - following previous meetings at technical and political level - to exchange views on intensifying the cooperation on reconstruction and other relevant themes between the Netherlands, France, Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin.
It was decided to continue working closely together. The meeting underlines the solidarity and mutual intention of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the French Republic to rebuild, in many different aspects, the severely stricken island in close cooperation. This all for the benefit of the people of Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin. This exchange of views will continue on a regular basis, in particular during the next meeting between the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the French Republic, Sint Maarten and Saint-Martin that will take place in Saint-Martin at the beginning of the year 2018. Concrete cooperation measures in terms of reconstruction and other cooperation issues will be discussed at this occasion.
